Anime Expo (United States)


AnimeExpo is held in Los Angeles, California and is organized by non-profit Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation. It is the largest Anime Convention in North America as of 2017. This year it is happening from 5th-8th July 2018 with a pre-show Night on 4th July 2018. Otakon (United States)


Otakon is one of the largest running Anime Convention in the United States. It’s an annual two-day anime convention event which will be held from August 10th-12th 2018 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C. The convention focuses on East Asian popular culture primarily anime, manga, music, and cinema and its fandom. There are Art Shows, Cosplay, LARP, Maid Cafe, Lolita Garden, Fan videos, AMV contests and a lot of other activities which will keep you indulged in the Otaku world.


Katsucon (United States)


Katsucon, an annual 3-day fan convention held in the D.C. metro area for multicultural enthusiasts and entertainment. Katsucon 2018 is gonna be held on February 16th-18th, 2018. The convention typically offers anime music video screenings, an art show, artist alley, charity auction, costume contests, cosplay chess, dealers room, game shows, the formal ball, karaoke, a maid cafe, masquerade, musical performances, panels, rave, workshops, video gaming, and video screenings. Katsucon has Japanese Culture programming known as the Japanese Cultural Institute.


Anime Festival Asia (SouthEast Asian Region)


C3AFA also known as Anime Festival Asia (AFA) is a series of anime conventions held in the Southeast Asian region, with a core annual convention held in Singapore. Alongside the main conventions, AFA also holds periodic business conferences focusing on the anime and manga industry. The first of these was Animation Asia Conference, held in 2009. AFA is notable for having one of the largest attendance figures for anime conventions outside Japan, with 94,270 attendees in 2016. The event for 2018 is lined up in Hong Kong from FRI 9 – SUN 11 FEB 2018 atHong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hong Kong.


AnimeJapan (Japan)


AnimeJapan is a Japanese anime consumer show which was held for the first time at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center in Tokyo, in March 2014. The dates for 2018 are from March 22nd-25th which is being held at Tokyo. There are various Exhibitions where exhibitors will display Anime products and items like cosplay, merchandise, collectives, idols etc. This is what AnimeJapan has to say about its Anime Convention Event 2018:

Comiket (Japan)


Comiket, otherwise known as the Comic Market, is the world’s largest dōjinshi fair, held twice a year in Tokyo, Japan. The first Comiket was held on December 21, 1975, with only about 32 participating circles and an estimated 600 attendees. This year it is gonna be held in the month of August and December, whereas the dates and venues are not yet confirmed. If you are a huge fan of Comics and Manga then Comiket is the perfect Anime Convention for you in the year 2018 and Yes, Cosplays exhibitions are obvious.


Japan Expo (Paris)


Japan Expo is a convention on Japanese popular culture—the largest of its kind in the world outside Japan—taking place in Paris, France, although it has branched out into a partnership festival Kultima and expanded to include some European and US pop culture as well. It is held yearly at the beginning of July for four days (usually from Thursday to Sunday) in the Parc des Expositions de Villepinte (the second-largest convention center in France). The attendance has increased steadily over the years, with 3,200 visitors welcomed in the first edition in 1999 and more than 250,000 for the 2016 edition. This year it gonna be held from 5th-8th July 2018 at Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center.

 


AmeCon (United Kingdom)


AmeCon is an anime and manga show held in Leicester, United Kingdom, typically for three days, and is the largest trade show in the UK. The convention was established after several members of the Leicester Anime and Manga Club (LANMA) committee decided to organize a small event for residents in 2004. Over the years this event has become the largest in the industry in the British Isles.  This year it is gonna be held at Warwicks Art Center, Coventry from 27th-29th July 2018. AmeCon is one of the UK’s largest residential convention dedicated to the celebration of Japanese Animation, Culture and Comics, and the community that these media bring together all in one jam-packed weekend.


Madman Anime Festival (Australia)


Madman Anime Festival (also known simply as MadFest) is an annual Australian anime and Japanese culture convention held in Melbourne, Perth, and Brisbane. The convention is organized by Madman Entertainment. The convention was inaugurated in 2016 and held in Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre as a two-day event from the 3rd-4 September 2016 in Melbourne. The convention was later expanded to Perth and Brisbane after a successful inaugural event, with each event held a few months apart. This year it is happening at Perth from 3rd-4th March, at Brisbane at 2nd-3rd June and at Melbourne at 15th-16th September 2018. Many famous and popular anime faces are going to show up like Shinichiro Watanabe (Director of Cowboy Bebop), Bryce (Voice of Kirito and Eren Jaeger) etc. 


Animelo Summer Live (Japan)


Animelo Summer Live, abbreviated as Anisama, is the biggest annual anime songs music festival in Japan hosted by Dwango and Nippon Cultural Broadcasting. Animelo Summer Live has been held every summer since 2005. This event is for those who love listening to Anime soundtracks and music. Animelo performers are singers and voice actors that specialize in singing anime or game theme songs; however, they also both present and perform new original and tokusatsu songs as well. The venue and dates for Animelo Summer Live 2018 are not yet confirmed.
