Jiraiya

Jiraiya’s death was one of the most tragic deaths ever experienced in the Naruto series. He was sensei of both Naruto and Nagato who studied the path of ninja under him. Jiraya began investigating the Akatsuki’s leader, Pain. In the course of his investigation leads him to battle Pain, recognizing him to be Nagato as he tries to kill his student to prevent the world’s destruction before being overwhelmed by the Six Paths.
Nina Tucker
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
How can we forget Nina Tucker, this might be the most depressing episode that I have ever see. As Shou’s yearly assessment approaches and his license comes to jeopardy, Nina attempts to console her father. Her reassurances merely inspire the man to begin human-chimera transmutations again, using the same method with which he transmuted his wife. The most haunted memory is when Edward realizes that the chimera is actually Nina who was once a human and a great friend.
Kaori Miyazono
Your Lie in April
Kaori Miyazono was one of the main characters of Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. She was a violinist who helped Kousei Arima play the piano after his mother’s death. Kaori was hiding her illness from Kousei’s group. It later became obvious that her health is deteriorating rapidly, and she could no longer hide her illness from her friends. Her illness began causing bouts of paralysis in her legs, she is shown suddenly falling to the ground while walking down the hallway in the hospital, unable to stand up again. On 18 February, the day of Kousei’s piano competition, Kaori underwent surgery, but despite the doctors’ efforts, she passed away. At her funeral, her letter was given to Kousei.
Itachi Uchiha

Itachi can be counted as one of the greatest warriors to ever lived. When Sasuke realized that he was getting attached to the members of Team 7 and from his perspective, failing to get stronger because of them, he ran away from Konoha and left to train under Orochimaru, propelling him along the path towards Itachi’s death. Following the brothers’ battle, Itachi’s plans start to fail due to the interference of Tobi. Tobi refocuses Sasuke’s hatred that Itachi had engineered for himself to be used against Konoha, turning Sasuke into a criminal against Itachi’s intentions.
Mayuri Shina
Steins Gate
The most intense and tragic part of the anime which gave it an intense drive was the part where Mayui Shina dies; not once, not twice but again and again a countless number of times. It was always sad and horrifying to see that no matter what Okabe Rintaro tried he couldn’t end up saving her. Their friendship and trust lead Okabe to find a way in which he can finally save her and open the Steins Gate.
L
Death Note
We loved Light Yagami in Death Note but there was just something about L that made us stand on our feet everytime we saw him. When L died, it was something that we had not expected and were taken back with a moment of shock and grief. Even if Light Yagami knew L’s real name he wouldn’t kill him because he also wanted to get rid of Rem. Since the investigation was following Misa Amane and Light Yagami was ultimately safe; Rem had to be the one to kill L to save the life of Misa.
Portgas D Ace
One Piece
Ace was one of our most favorite character in One Piece, it was such a hard time dealing with his death. Ace is punched by a magma fist through the back by Admiral Akainu and falls into Luffy’s arms. He then thinks about his past and remembers his goal in life: to find out whether or not he had deserved to be born. Akainu proceeds to attack Luffy, but Jinbe stops his advance. Marco and Vista then rush to the aid of Luffy and strike Akainu with Haki imbued attacks, but realize they are ineffective against the admiral. As everyone else stares in shock at Ace’s wounds, they deduce that his organs were burned beyond help, and tell Luffy that Ace will not make it. Just as Ace dies, he thanks Luffy for everything and everyone for loving him.
Koro Sensei
Assassination Classroom
Assassination Classroom was one of the most hilarious, life lesson teaching action-drama anime. Koro-sensei was one of the teachers of Class 3-E who helped the students of the class and taught them so many important things. Although ironically the task of the Class 3-E students was to assassinate their Koro-Sensei in order to stop the destruction of the world. The death of Koro-Sensei was extremely painful for the students, including us since we all had become somewhat attached to him. After completing his final attendance, Korosensei expresses his joy to be assassinated by his beloved pupils.
Shirley
Code Geass
Shirley was an important character in Code Geass as she was someone who was always around Lelouch and in love with him. Her death was one of the greatest drives for Lelouch to kill all the members of the order and take her revenge as he thought she died because of the power of Geass which existed. When Lelouch finds her, Shirley is lying in a pool of her own blood. She confesses her feelings to Lelouch and reveals that even knowing he killed her father and had memories erased of him twice, she kept falling in love with him over and over again. In a desperate attempt, Lelouch commands her to live by using his Geass, however, due to the massive blood loss, his Geass fails and she dies in his arms.
Ryoko
Tokyo Ghoul
Okay I know you didn’t expect this on the list but think for a minute how devastating was Ryoko’s death. Ryoko san sacrificed herself to save Hinami her only daughter. She made way for Hinami to escape so that she could live. Meanwhile escaping Hinami runs into Kaneki who tried to help her but when they reach the spot where Ryoko san is being surrounded by Investigators, Hinami chan and Kaneki witness the most tragic moment; the death of Ryoko san. The only thing Kaneki was able to do was to cover the eyes of Hinami so that she doesn’t have to witness the horrific sight of her mother being killed.
